big stupid question
Is anyone (and i can't do so before approximately Humphrey, Georgius et al of Dover and other places) able to establish any benchmarks that are certain. The reason I ask this is that, while there may be controversy about where Robert de Eyton "came from," the line from him seems to be farly certain, even absolutely certain. Can we agree to this, or not? Is anyone willing or able to document earlier Eatons with certainty, especially those before settlement in Dover, Kent?
The reason I ask this now is (1) there seem to be some new and avid researchers among us (most welcome) and (2) perhaps others of us have nailed down facts that have not been shared.
Just wondering and boldly fishing.
Rick
