Any and all help is welcome and appreciated.Yes, most of these families are very inter-related, and that is part of the problem. At the moment, we are trying to identify the father to Robert de Eyton of Shropshire, England, b. 12th century. The various historical information differs, so we are trying to find the preponderance of information or best references for his lineage.According to Molyneux, his father was William Fitz Alan.According to R. W. Eyton's Antiquities, his father may have been William Fitz Warin.Others think he may have been related to William Pantulf.Another confused issue it whether Alan Fitz Flaald was actually Fleance, son of Banquo, Thane of Lochaber, or if he was descended directly from Alan of Dol, and the family of Dol/Dinan in France. There are so many variations on this line, which does eventually become part of the Eaton line, and one which would be nice to resolve. If you have info on any of the above ancient families, any help would be appreciated.
