Theophilus Eaton, Jr (1631-1668
I posted a message on this subject 6/10/200 and got a reply 6/21/200 from Rick Eaton, which message evidently is no longer on the server, since I can't access it.In essence the response stated that there were no descendents of Theophilus Jr. who em to Dublin, Ireland.I refrained from responding to Rick Eaton until I could comment intelligently, but, as I stated, I cannot access his response.
My research indicates that Theophilus Eaton Jr., b. London, 1631,left New Haven with his mother and sister and emigrated to Dublin. There, according to the N. Z. R. Molyneux history of the Eaton family (1911), in a deed of indenture dated Mar 20, 1658/9 he was involved in conveying the estate of his father. His prerogative will was filed in Dublin in 1668, and according to the Maunsell genealogy he had a daughter, Anne, who m. Col Thomas Maunsell of McCollop, say, 1675.Anne Maunsell, daughter of the last-named m. Daniel Widenham of Ballynamona, Co. Limerick, my direct ancestor. What is wrong with this possible scenario? The Molyneux biography states that Theophilus Eaton Jr., son of Gov. Theophilus Eaton d. 1653, in conflict with the above, and, further, the reference citedabove (the deed) is in conflict with this and the prerogative will (1668).Further, the reference cited by Molyneux, Atwater's History of New Haven, contains no such information (I have both editions).Help, please!!!!!
Gerry
