Lewis H. Eastwood received a land grant in Texas for 320 acres in 1840. He sold this property to his putative brother Hiram B. Eastwood three years later in 1843. Lewis H. Eastwood married Elizabeth Ludwell in Hempstead County, AR in 1849. He remained in Hempstead County, AR until 1867 when he moved to Hunt County, TX where he died before 1870. Hiram B. Eastwood married Margaret A. Latimer in Pike County, AR ca. 1849 and died there Dec. 1879. Pike County is adjacent to Hempstead County, AR where Lewis H. Eastwood lived. Descendents of both Lewis H. Eastwood and his supposed brother Hiram B. Eastwood were both living in the Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory in 1900.
