Todmorden to Ontario Canada Link

I am looking for information about the family of my England link,
JOHN EASTWOOD (b.1788) who emigrated to Canada around 1817 from
Todmorden England. At the time he was already married to Elizabeth
Helliwell, and they had a number of children. John was a plumber
and glazier by trade. The Helliwell family was well known in the
Todmorden area, and owned a large cotton processing factory.
JOHN EASTWOOD likely had a sister named ALICE. I think his
father owned a "water right" but went bankrupt during the
revolutionary wars. The family may have actually come from
Eastwood, a couple of miles down(?) the river.

The John's family and the entire Helliwell clan joined him
around Niagara Falls Ontario in about 1818. They all moved to
York (now Toronto) around 1819-1820 where they purchased and ran
mills on the Don River. John became successful, well known,
and was very active in the early city life.

One unique(?) thing about this family is that they gave at
least some of their children Latin middle names. My GGgf was
William Octavius Eastwood (the 8th child), and his brother
Charles Septimus was the 7th child.

I have many other background hints which I am willing to share.

Any help in establishing this family history in the Todmorden
England area, or enriching my knowledge of the family in Ontario
would be MOST appreciated.
