See the Genforum DeGraffenreid message # 68 by Rob Roy Ratliff.

The Eastwoods, DeGraffenreids, Ratliffs, Fishers, Damrons, Brocks, and Vivions (among others) were families who lived together in and around Newton Co MO about 1830, and who moved together to different places in TX. Many ended up in Caldwell Co after the Civil War, and then some went on to Williamson Co and to the Kerr/Uvalde Co area.

King Fisher was a famous outlaw and then sheriff's deputy who was related to these folks. Born in Collin Co, he lived in Goliad Co for a while, then Williamson Co, then Uvalde. Supposedly his Damron kin kept trying to straighten him out.

It is not a good hour for me to try to recount all the tangled relationships between these families, but I do believe that the Eastwoods of Caldwell Co probably came from around Newton Co MO originally, probably after a stopover in the "Peters Colony" area: Fannin, Collin, Dallas, Ellis or neighboring counties.
