I have a brick wall situaton. I wonder if anyone knows or could point to where I could find the parents of Henry Eastman, b. circa 1788, died October 10, 1814, from wounds he received in the War of 1812. His wife was Sally Kimball, and they were married in 1791 in Conway, NH. Their children wre Sally, Amelia, and Reuben Kimball Eastman. There was a pension paid out for the children that ended about 1817.
According to military records I found at ancestry.com, Henry Eastman was a Sergeant (War of 1812) who served aboard the USS Sommers, but was one of those captured by the British when this vessel was taken by surprise in the St. Lawrence River. Family lore has it that he died in Halifax, Nova Scotia, as a prisoner, of the wounds he received when captured. I haven't been able to locate a single Bible record, birth record, death/obituary record on this Henry Eastman.
Can anyone recommend otheer sources I might consult? Thanks.
