I have the Eastman family, with the northwest Ohio branches fairly complete. The record I have shows the name as Apolus Eastman (born 1800, Charlestown, NH; married Marysville, OH, Union Co. 1 Jun 1829; died 17 Oct 1869, Iowa), begat Jacob Eastman (born 27 Apr 1830, no location), begat Appelles Eastman (born 25 Oct 1855). Apolus and Appelles must be variants of the same name. My family stems from the brother (Richard Kimbell Eastman, born 8 Jan 1832) of the Jacob Eastman appearing above.
