In a book called "That Man Eastman" it re-
ferences the following:
A certain THOMAS EASTMAN is said to have gone
to Chile from London about 1810.

Victor Eastman attended George Washington
University in 1897-8. He was from Chile. On
April 22, 1939 an article appeared in the New
York Times from Quito, Ecuador in which "Dr.
Eastman" urged Latin American countries to
"Compose their differences and look to the
leadership of the United States.

"Dr. Thomas O. Eastman, a distinguished
Columbian citizen, prominent in literary,
education and political circles, died at
Medellin on April 23, 1931. As a token of
appreciation of the valuable services which
he rendered his country as educator, Member
of Congress and Minister in various portfolios,
the Columbian government decreed that the
national flag be displayed at half mast for
three days in all public buildings throughout
the Republic.
Columbian citizen, prominent in literary,
