Hi!
Thank you for responding to my inquiry - to answer your question:
I have no idea where and when James Nathan & Hellen Eastman died. I know he lived in Burnett County, Wisconsin, town of Rusk in 1900, then in Washburn County, Wisconsin, town of Shell Lake in 1910. However, I have completely lost track of them after that. Their daughter (my gr-grandmother)moved to Minneapolis around 1912 but I'm not sure if her parents were with her or not. I did check the on-line minnesota death records and found several James Eastmans having died in the late 1920's through the 1930's, but do not know if any of them could be "my" James Eastman. My cousin and I thought there was some story passed along that one of them may have died in California - so I looked up California deaths online - and found one "Helen Eastman" having died in 1925 in Alameda county - but the age was off by several years, so I didn't pursue it. I've also looked up cemeteries/graves on line - and found a couple James Eastmans - but none that remotely fit his age, etc. We are at a complete loss of where to go next. I know Helen (Jackson)Eastman was born in Janesville, WI in July of 1861, but I scoured the ENTIRE Rock County, WI 1870 census - but found neither Jacksons nor Eastmans that fit them. Several years ago, my cousin tried to find Helen's birth record in Janesville - but never found it.
I've tried all I could think of - save paying an historical society to research for me, which I just can't afford to do. Any suggestions or contacts you might suggest, would be very much appreciated.
