Shane,
Back in the 1830's and 1840's there was a Crawford Eastham who bought land in early Mississippi and is listed in the land records there (check "glo" website). He married his wife just over the border in Tennessee, and they are listed in the marriage records for that state. He disappeared around 1849 according to people who have researched him. I don't know if there is a connection with your Crawford Eastham or not, but it's an unusal name.
I have been looking for my great-grandfather, Samuel Eastham (Easttam), and he is also listed in the Mississippi land records and supposedly traveled with Crawford. I don't know their connection. Samuel ended up in Arkansas, then Oklahoma, then Bowie County, Texas, where he is buried. There are still Easttams who live there. There is a woman over 100 years old named Easttam who lives near Antlers, Oklahoma. I hope to interview her soon.
Hope this is helpful to you.
