Hello Maggie,

You are so kind to offer information on a family that I know almost nothing about. I will gladly share all that I know.

Katherine Laura Powell was the daughter of Lottie Adell Walker and Jacob Thomas Powell ...... I have seen his name as Thomas J.; J. T.; Tom J.; and Jacaba Thomas Powell. When I asked any family member about his name they said they just called him uncle Tom.

The 1920 census has his name as J.T. and the 1930 as Tom J.

Lottie Adell Walker was the sister of my father in law, Ed Lee Walker (both of these had died years before I married into the Walker family). Rumor was that Adell and Ed had a falling out over the "Granddaddy" Walker home when their father died in 1930 leaving the home to Ed and that they never spoke to each other again. Adell did sue Ed and I saw the papers on this, but never got a chance to read them.

I will email you and give you dates and names of those that you are interested in.
