!1860 TX census Van Zandt Co: dwelling # 555 Free Inhabitants of Prairie Beat Post Office Big Rock, July 27
1863 - Jun 7, Silas D. Easterwood, Pvt Enl Camp Scurry, Roster of Co A, Terrell's TX Cavalry
1870 - March 18 his daughter, Lucinda, was born in Texas [this is my GGrandmother]
!1870 - August 8,census the David Easterwood family were living in Van Zandt County with a post office address of Canton, David was 28 years of age at the time
1872 - His daughter,Nomi, was born
1877 - His wife Melinda married again [I wonder if he he died before this time because I haven't find any further record of him]
General Easterwood notes: In the 1860 & 1870 census it appears that David was born in Alab., but in the 1880 census, both Lula & Nomie D. say their father was born in Tennesse
Cousin, Doris Kirby Holder, reports that the Easterwood's had a country store in Van Zant Co at one time.
Research notes: 1830 census there is a David Easterwood in Union SC [possibly David's father or uncle]
1840 census there is a David Easterwood in Union SC 1840 census; there is a Joseph Easterwood in Union SC From "Our Family The Easterwood" book: A David Easterwood moved from Union County, SC to Picken County, AL
in the 1840's. His wife Lucinda Burgess or (Scott) daughter of John Burgess of Spartanburg Dist., SC. David died abt 1866 in Picken County, AL - may be an uncle of Silas David
