The father of James Harvey Conner, who married Margaret Easterly, was known only as Maximilian Conner (1762-1834). He never uses the name Haney or Haynie, although the family apparently knew of Haynies in South Carolina. Max's son, Maximilian Haney Conner, (1805-1893), my gr-gr-grandfather, was known as Haney or M.H. Conner. I hope this clears up the confusion.
