George Easterly - Revolutionary War Vet?
I keep seeing conflicting comments about whether George Easterly (b.1749) was or was not a Captain in the Pennsylvania militia.
What is the story here?
He seems to be about the correct age.
His wereabouts are not accounted for in any other area in the time frame of the war.
He is not included in the list of soldiers from the area in which he lived. (Shenandoah Valley, VA)
Where was he? Perhaps serving in the Pennsylvania militia?
If the Captain in the militia was not George Easterly (B.1749), then who was he? I realize there are a lot of
people named George Easterly in the files, but, when you narrow it down to a specific time frame, the list is very short.
