I found in checking to find out who Wm East wife was, there is not always documentation, especially on females during that time unless they were head of household. On the S C census in the 1800, they were counting Indian males and Cacusian female, head of household only. What was listed was males or female and ages that live in the household but only the head of household name was listed. Later they started counting cow, horses, live stock and slaves but it was much much later that they began listing name of all the children with ages. Thank goodness for the people that had taken the original rolls and transcribed them for us in Ancestry and usgenweb.org. I proof read for usgenweb.org, American Indian tribes, which was very interesting and with that thought you may check that web site to see if you find anything. It is free.
