Thanks for the link.I did find the names of my East family posted there but the data is incorrect.I am searching for Alvis/Albis East and this website has him listed as:
Albis apparently died in the 1840s in Lincoln Co.
Polly and Albis had a son who was living with his Morris grandparents in Lincoln Co in 1850. He was-
a.S Thomas East, b 1843 in Lincoln Co MO.
Dr. Alvis East removed to Iowa after the death of his wife Polly Morris.Alvis and Polly's son, Samuel Thomas East did remain in Lincoln County, MO [resided with his grandfather Jonah Morris] but Alvis did not die in the 1840s as this site suggests.
During the Civil War, Alvis enlisted as a Surgeon on 17 September 1862 at the age of 35.
In Iowa, Alvis remarried and had nine more children. His widow applied for his Civil War Pension.
His son Samuel Thomas East grew up to also become a Doctor and Samuel removed to Iowa for a short time and worked with his father before returning to Lincoln County, MO to take up his practice in his hometown.
Thanks again for the link.
