Richard, Thank you for filling in some gaps in my family. I am descended from William Eason, and when you started talking about Abraham being a Methodist minister, it sounded incredibly similar. From what I have been able to determine, William Eason was a Methodist minister who moved from South Carolina to Tattnall County about 1800. One source says that he was ordained by Francis Asbury and sent to Tattnall County to start a Methodist church. The church he started is Mount Carmel Methodist Church, which is just down the road from the old farm. He is probably buried near the old farm. There is a historical marker in front of the church, which also states that William Eason was the son of George Eason. We recently found the church, which is next door to Rome Primitive Baptist Church, on the "old" highway between Collins and Reidsville. A lady who was at the P.B. church told me that the Methodist church has a memorial service in October each year. Thanks again! Rebecca
