Larry, Here is what I have up to 1850: Lucy Beavers married Ithiel G. Eason about 1839, probably in Fayette or Shelby Co., Tennessee, or perhaps in Desoto Co., Mississippi. They were on the 1840 census in Desoto Co., Mississippi, with one child, perhaps Alice, who was age 10 on the 1850 census. Lucy's widowed sister Mary Newbern and married sister Sarah Ellis were also in DeSoto Co. for that census: 1840 > MISSISSIPPI > DESOTO > NO TWP LISTED Series: M704 Roll: 215 Page: 111 Mary M. Newbern 12//111001 [plus one male slave and 2 female slaves] Page 114 Wm. D. Ellis 00011//20101 [plus 6 slaves] Page: 116 I. G. Eason 00001//10001 [plus 1 slave] Ithiel and Lucy Eason moved to Arkansas after the 1840 census with other members of the extended Beavers family. Ithiel was a resident of Arkansas in 1847 when he graduated from medical school: History of the Medical Department of the University of Louisville, Louisville : Printed at the office of the Journal, 1852. page 15: [Graduates 1847, among others] "Eason, Ithiel G. Arkansas [subject of Thesis] Utility of Bloodletting" I really have not looked at the Easons because my interest is in the Moody family. Lucy's mother was Nancy Moody and my husband is descended from Nancy Moody Beavers' sister, Elizabeth Moody Cass. I now have a 15 page file on Ithiel and Lucy Eason and their children and will be happy to share if you are interested. I also have a lot of documented information about Lucy Beavers' maternal line going back a number of generations. Janice Notify Administrator about this message?
