Wayne, I am AliceSue Giger and have recently started researching the Eason family on my mom's paternal side. I read your message of 8/20/07 referencing Thomas Eason, Sr and Martha Welch. Thomas Eason, Sr is my ggg-grand- father; Thomas Eason, Jr my gg-grandfather; Jasper Eason my g-grandfather; Your grandfather and my grandfather were brothers it seems. Fulton Eason was the youngest son of Jasper Eason. You said your grandfather was Hamie...was his actual name Harry Alvin Eason and he was called Hamie? Just wondering because growing up I remember my mom telling me the names of Fulton's (my grandfather) brothers and sisters and I think I remember her saying Hamie. Anyway, I too cannot find anything about Thomas Sr's parents. I have read about an Abraham and have a gut feeling he might be Thomas Sr's dad...no proof, just a feeling I have. Whatever I find I will be glad to share with anyone. I live in Valdosta, GA (ended up here because my husband was in the Air Force), but I was born in Springhill, LA; grew up in Shreveport, LA; my grandparents, Fulton and Jewel Eason lived in Springhill, LA. Fulton was born in Bowdon, GA. When he left Georgia he went to Leesville & Pickering, LA in Vernon Parish; eventually moving to Springhill, LA. AliceSue, gigert@bellsouth.net
