Mary,

Emma Eason was my Great grandmother. She would have been the great grandchild of the Thomas Eason who married Martha Welch. We do not have any Eason males.

Do you know how Abraham is related to Thomas? I assumed they were closely related since they were both on the tax digest for Morgan Co. in 1810, perhaps brothers or cousins. I have tentatively written in Rice Eason as Thomas's father, but I don't have real proof.Do you have information?

I have an 1840 census record from Sumter Co Alabama that lists Thomas Eason with Edmond Welch next door. Edmond is Martha's brother. I have that Edmond died in Alabama in 1845. Unfortunately there is no census record with any of his family members. Since they were living in Alabama, it is possible that your Martha is related to this family. My Martha also had brothers named John and Luke. Your Martha is probably several generations removed from these, but there might be some name similarities.

Nancy
