Brett: Since you are in Georgia you might begin with the Morgan County Courthouse records. There is a deed there dated Feb. 16, 1810 and in Deed Book B, p. 75 for Joseph Evans sells to Abraham Eason Lot 16 in the 20th District. 177.75 acres on Indian Creek for $200. Witness is Thomas Eason. Recorded Feb. 16, 1810. Since your Thomas Eason married in Morgan County in 1812 this would appear to be him on the deed to Abraham. This is the younger Abraham, son of Abraham I presume but do not know. Older Abraham was in Oglethorpe County in the 1800 census which also showed a younger Abraham Eason and Rese (Rice) Eason. In 1808 Abraham Pope is Administrator of Abraham Eason's estate. On December 30, 1797 Abraham Pope married Nancy Eason, likely Abraham's daughter. Moses and Abraham are in Gates County, North Carolina in the 1786 Tax List. In the 1760s, 70s part of 80s Moses Sr., and Jr., are in Johnston County, North Carolina. Moses Eason in Perequimans County, North Carolina and there is an Abraham Eason in Perquimans in 1777. These few notes suggest several places to look at records and see if you can put together the puzzle. My ancestor, Sarah Ann Eason is said to be the daughter of Moses Eason and wife Sarah Rice. Her brothers said to be Whitmell Eason, Rice Eason, and Abraham Eason. I have not documented that myself yet. Regards, Chuck Perdue Notify Administrator about this message?
