Winnie Easley 1811 TN to Blount Co. AL
Winnie Easley, born 1811 TNmarried Jeremiah Morton, born 1809 SC.
Marriage most likely occurred in Blount Co AL in 1829, as he had his own 1830 census with one son.
The Mortons came out of Pendleton District SC in the 1820's and landed in Blount Co. One line went to Anderson TX and is associated with the Killions and a Ben Easley.
Proof of their marriage is death certificate of their son David Morton who names his parents as Jeremiah Morton and Winnie Easley.David died 5 Dec 1926 in Dent Co. MO. He was born 16 Jan 1844, probably in Jefferson Co. AL or Jackson Co. AL.
These Mortons were last in AL in 1850 in Jackson Co near some Bynums.
Anyone want to hazard a guess at Winnie's parents??
PS: on a humerous note, I got all involved in the Mortons when trying to sort out the beneficiary's of Solomon Murphree's will.I now have more Morton info on my gedcom than my own line of Glovers (who repeatedly married into the Bynum's).
