Just found information that Nicholas Porter Earp (the famous Wyatt Earp's father) had a brother named Lorenzo Dow Earp. Their father, Walter Earp, was a Methodist minister. Lorenzo Dow was an evangelical Methodist minister/missionary. That's why there are so many males with that name - Earp or otherwise!
