I'm not sure that any Deeds/Earp family member can help but it would be great information. According to my grandmother, Belva C. Deeds(Maiden Earp) (God Rest her soul, 01/28/2007), we are of distant relation to outlaws Sam Bass and Belle Starr. I've noticed two similarities regarding a possible tie. One the Starr family was at one time living in Missouri. Two they moved to Texas where Belle may have married one of the James Gang outlaws, maybe Cole Younger man, which has never been proven. The James Gang has been associated with Soapy Smith. I have found that Sam's family comes from Texas as does the Earp family, as Virgil Earp would be my Greatx4 grandfather. So if anyone has any idea as to how the Bass/Starr connection may apply it would be greatly appreciated.
