Thought I would post this perhaps it will help someone. It's a copy of a page from "METHODISM IN TENNESSEE"
There are a couple of things I can not make out to what it says and I will note that.
Sweetwater Valley is a scope of country in Monroe County, lying in the Western part, and bordering on Roane and Loudon counties. Some of the early settlers of the county, after the Indian lands were opened for settlement, located in that part.
REV. JAMES AXLEY lies buried about 2 miles from the town of Sweetwater, by the side of his wife CYNTHIA. He died in 1837, aged 60 years. He ws born in (can not make this out) looks like Cumberland County, Virginia, the son of JAMES AXLEY and his wife (can not make out) LEXUANNA, or LEMUANNA, and he had two brothers PLEASANT and ROBERT AXLEY. REV. JAMES AXLEY and his wife CYNTHIA had children:
1. JAMES AXLEY (b. 1725)
2. SAMUEL AXLEY (b. 1827-1903)
3. ELIJAH AXLEY
4. MARILLA AXLEY
5. BETSY AXLEY
6. JEMIMAH AXLEY
7. MATILDA AXLEY
The mother's name was CYNTHIA EARNEST, one of a family of 10 brothers and 17 sisters.

The is all it says about CYNTHIA EARNEST. Does anyone have any other information on CYNTHIA?
