Have you looked in Jacson MS, Vital Statistics, for death certificates. Sometimes they list a person's parents names. The courthouse in the county where they lived should have their marriage lisence. I just visited the area where my mother grew up and found cemetary records for all the cemeteries in that county in the local library.
I also found census records in the library.
