In answer to your question about a pedigree, the information that I have states that up to the end of the 16th century, collections of pedigrees existed. I believe they were kept at the Castle of Arms in Dublin. One could write to the Castle and ask if those pedigrees still exist. There are many Irish genealogy web sites. I would start there and see what is available, before writing to the Castle in Dublin. I would think you would have to trace your ancestry back to the 16th century first in order to connect with their records if they are still in existence.
I was quite interested just to know that my ancestors named Early, came from Ireland, making them descendants of Maolmocheirgh whose ancestry was recorded back to Adam & Eve. That fact alone, being of record, seems pretty astounding to me.
