I would like to hear from anyone who has come accross the name Owen Early in their family as it is a name used in my family for at least 200. The first Owen I know of came from somewhere in the west of Ireland and died before 1860, maybe in England and his occupation was a coal miner. He had 2 sons John born 1832 Sligo and James born 1837 Rosscommon both moved to England. I have found a reference to a Bridget Early who was a sponsor at a baptisim in Kelloe, County Durham England in 1858. I have heard folklore that 3 Early sisters emigrated to America, maybe one of them used the name Owen for a child. All the Early's are thought to have emigrated from Ireland during the Great Famine.
Please email me if you have any news.
