People who have once taken De Witt's Little Early Risers will never have
anything else. They are the "famous little pills" for torpid liver and all

Farm work was brought to a stand still by altogether the heaviest rain of the
season which fell Friday and Friday night, and was followed by several days
of cold and gloomy weather, in which the fires had again to be lighted for
warmth, and the reserved forces of the mind drawn on for good cheer.
A very large crowd attended the Musical given at the home of Mrs. and Mr. G.
W. BLAIR, Tuesday night. A lengthy program was given consisting of
instrumental and vocal music, recitations, and readings. The large crowd was well
managed, and the evening passed pleasantly. The next one will be at the home of E.
L. KELLEY and wife the latter part of June.
Mr. Pete MICKELSON, while suffering from an attack of mental aberration, came
very near being drowned on Sunday. He walked directly into the creek and was
completely immersed in its water. Later he was found by one of his boys
lying on the bank upon his face. On being roused he became quite violent. Dr.
DERWENT was called, and did what could be done to make him comfortable. He is
getting along as well as can be expected from the nature of his affliction.
The Illustrated Youth and Age, of Nashville, Tennessee, has originated a
scheme which it thinks will greatly increase its subscription list and at the same
time raise a find of fifty thousand dollars with which to erect a monument to
the memory of the men who sacrificed when the Maine went down in the waters
of Havana harbor. If we build monuments at all we like the idea of building
one to these men; but we do not like the raising of the money to be couple with
a mercenary scheme; and so long as it is so coupled shall have nothing
whatever to do with it.
