Ricky, My name is Carlton Higginbotham. My grandfather was Benjamin Earley who was the brother to O.C. Earley. Also my grandmother on my father's side was Emaline Chandler who was first married to O.C. She later married my grandfather, Dean Higginbotham. We have all heard the story of Willie, but did not know who he was adopted to. I am a cousin to Brenda Weaver who has posted on this site. She told me about you and sent me a copy of the adoption certificate. I can remember uncle O.C. (called Occie by family) when I was a young boy of about 5 years old. I do not remember the circumstances of his death etc. I remember his wooden leg. I would be interested in sharing any information you have on the family. I have some schetchy details of my mother's side. She is Lillian Earley Higginbotham.
Looking to hear from you.
