William P. Earles (b. 12 Feb 1849, Coffee Co, TN) and Virginia Ladd were my grandmother's parents. Flora Belle Earles Hawkins was my grandmother. My grandmother was born in Salem, Mo. I have not found census proof of the family living in Missouri. William is buried in Union Cemetery, Earlsboro, Ok. I saw Susie when I was a small girl. Brothers John, Jim, and Dewey visited my grandmother in Graham, Texas in later years. My dad, Dennis McHenry Hawkins, was named after Flora's oldest brother Dennis Jefferson Earles (1869-1920). William and Virginia had:
Dennis Jefferson
James A. (1872-1955),
Margaret H (1873-?),
Sarah E. "Sally" (1877-?),
Laura D. (1877-?),
Flora Belle (1881-1963),
Susie (1883-?).
William Pleasant then married Nancy Elizabeth Sexton Cummings Earles and they had:
Minnie died at 4 years,
John W,
Dewey,
and Lennie (still living in Konwawa, Ok. in 1985).
I have researched and visited with members of the family if you would like to share/compare further information. betshaffer@hotmail.com
