Joseph Earl, Jr, was born in Dutchess or Renslaer County, NY.His family were tenants there and their Loyalist activities are mentioned in the History of Dutchess County.I have no doubt that Joseph's connection to Canada stems from his uncles leaving the County and NY for Ontario after the Revolutionary War.Joseph moved from Canada so he wouldn't have to serve from there and he moved to western NY (Seneca-Ontario-Onodaga area) so he wouldn't have to serve from NY.
Also, Experience's surname is SPRAGUE."Straque" derives from an individual who could not read the handwritten information, misreading "Straque" for Sprague.
Joseph Earl, sr.'s parentage has not been documented, but he does seem to be part of the Rhode Island Earls who moved to Dutchess County, NY, through western MA.
