The Eames family of Oxford County in Maine is an offshoot of the Eames family of colonial Massachusetts, which in turn is an offshoot of the Eames family of the ceremonial county of Dorset in England. The progenitor of the Maine family seems to have been Esq. James Eames (Abt 1758/63-10 Sep 1849) that Maurice identified as the husband of Ruth Felch.You can find James at these links:

Today I watched a show about the September 2006 murders of four people and three dogs in Newry by Christian Nielsen.The inn owned by the eldest murder victim appears to have once been the residence of Alexander P. Eames, a son of the aforementioned James.You can read about the murders at:

I have multiple blood connections to James.In the Eames family, our common ancestor appears to be Thomas Eames of Fordington in Dorset (1548-25 Jun 1618); he seems to be James' 3rd great grandfather and my 10th great grandfather.
