Thanks for considering the lineages I discussed. There were a few places where you misunderstood my posting. Hopefully, this posting will clear up some of the confusion.

Francis Peabody married Mary Foster, daughter of Reginald Foster, as the second spouse for both of them. Francis was previously married to Lidia (ref. Peabody Genealogy, 1909) who was mentioned in an Ipswich Court records on 4 Nov 1645. He married Mary Foster Wood who was first married to Daniel Wood. Daniel Wood died prior to 1649 when his estate was administered. The will of Reginald Foster (30 April 1680) identifies Mary, wife of Francis Peabody, as his daughter. The will of Francis Peabody calls Daniel Wood “son in law” which was the term used in that day for a stepson (ref. The Ancestry of Franklin Merriam Peabody, 1929). Other details of this will and subsequent Essex deeds are given in the Peabody Genealogy are good evidence that the widow of Daniel Wood is the second wife of Francis Peabody. Francis Peabody’s children prior to 1649 are with his first wife.

Mary Peabody, daughter of Francis Peabody and Mary Foster (Wood) Peabody was born sometime in the early 1650’s. Here, you misinterpreted some of my posting. The will of Francis Peabody listed his daughters in order of Lydia, Mary, Sarah, Hephzibah leading me to believe that Mary was born before Sarah and Hephzibah. While it seems that other than Lidia the birthdates for all the daughters are guess work, an earlier birthdate than 1656 for Mary Peabody is plausible. What is your reference for the date of 22 May 1656 you gave? An earlier birthdate for Mary Peabody make her marriage to John Death in 1670 more acceptable.

Mary Death, daughter of John Death and Mary Peabody, born say about 1670 married Samuel Eames in 1689. The will of John Death names his daughter Mary Eames.

I look forward to hearing additional comments and potential evidence on this lineage.
