Hi Jack
All I know is that William Eales immigrated to South Africa in 1820 under the ships party "Willson"he was married to Sarah and came to South Africa with no children. He was 23 or 28 (the documents differ in age) his wife was 26.He is listed as a farmer.I'm going to ask my grandmother (aged 94!!) for more detail,I hope she can remember.I however believe that her mother was an Eales.I'll give you more detail as soon as I have.
I can also just tell you that there is some china in our local 1820 settlers museum called No 7 Castle Hill. This china belonged to William Eales.
My interest lies in William's family before he left the UK to come to South Africa.
Cheryl
