Joy and Eileen,
The William Eakins family has turned out to be my brickwall, too.I'm descended from John b 1809 who in the 1840's moved to Putnam County, Indiana.
I can add a little bit about them, though.

FWIW, I've seen several references to this family. Some have John b. 1809 and some of his siblings born in OH and some in PA so I can't reliably determine exactly when, but it seems sure that the family (or at least John b. 1785) moved from PA to OH.
I also have confusing information on John b 1785's wife or wives. Some references give her name as Elizabeth and that they were married 12/09/1806 in Meigs Twp. Adams County.Others reference Hannah Wright who's grave stone (above) is next to John's.Note that according to this she must have been a second wife. Also, I'm not sure what to make of the "consort" reference.
To further confuse things, all the listings I've seen for William b 1759 give his POB as PA, but that would have been much earlier than any of the other Eakins I have come across.I suspect he may have been born in Ireland, probably County Antrim.
Good luck, let me know if you can add any pieces to this puzzle.
Best,
John
