Thank You Jackie
From census records I conclude my William Eakin was born 1780 in Ireland, was somewhere in Tennessee around 1806 and 1807 when his first 2 children were born, David in 1806 and Martha in 1807. Then after that is when I find the first census record in 1820 when he shows up in Lawrence Co., Ms. with no wife and 4 children or a young wife and 3 children.
I have seen much on the Eakin families in Tn. but most seem to have arrived in Tn. after my William Eakin and no one seems to know anything about him. Was Moses Eakin born in Ireland?
Because the census records of the early years of Tennessee did not survive I can't make a connection to the other families. I was sent info on 2 marriages in Davidson Co.,Tn. that seemed to fit my William Eakin.
William Eakin who married Ann Bishop in 1804 and William Eakin who married Mary Daney in 1808 in Davidson County, Tn.
Do you know who this [or these ] Wiliiam Eakin may be? Could he be the brother of Moses Eakin? Do you know of any other Eakin families in the early 1800's in this area of Tn.?
I would very much like to link or unlink my William Eakin to Davidson Co. I feel strongly that it might be him but need a little info on the Eakin family in Davidson Co. Tn.
