I also have a William Eagle in my family who was born 1816 in Stuntney, Cambridgshire and married Mary Hardingham from Dillington, East Dereham in Scarning in 1838.
William was one of four children (that I know of) born to Thomas Eagle and Sarah Jarvis (who married in 1815).
If not from the same family, then surely they must have been related! Maybe Thomas had a second wife? Just food for thought!!
