Some information about Benjamin Franklin Pennisten (b. abt 1828 Pike Co., Oh, s/o Uriah & Tabitha Pennisten, died 20 June 1859, married on 16 Dec. 1849 Pike Co., Oh to Eleanor Eager (b. abt 1828, d. 29 Dec. 1904.Children:1) John Hunt Pennisten b. 15 July 1853Pike co., d. 1940 Pike Co., married on 15 Nov. 1887 Pike co. to Sarah E. Treat Dewey 2) Sarah C. Pennisten b. 28 Sept. 1850, married 3 Sept. 1868 Pike Co. to William H. Wilson.

In 1902 Eleanor Eager Pennisten inherited from her brother George Eager, what became known as the Eager Inn, located near hamlet of Morgantown, Benton Twp., Pike Co., Ohio.The house still standing in 2000.
The Eager Inn:Isaac Pennisten owned property known as Eager Inn for 28 years. It is known as the first stone house in the area, probably built about 1808.* One version:In 1834 Isaac Pennisten sold this property to Andrew Kilpatrick, who later sold it to John Eager.Isaac Pennisten's son (in 1830) Uriah Pennisten bought 1/3 share of his father's property which contained a grist mill.
** 2nd versionThe John Eager family owned the old stone house known as Eager Inn.Stephen Graves sold the "Eager Inn" to john Eager in 1836. By 1856 sons Lewis and Robert quitclaimed their interest to their brother George Eager who died in 1902. He willed the property to his sister Eleanor Eager Pennisten Decker (wd of Benjamin F. Pennisten)who may have remarried a Decker. She left it to her children John H. and Sarah Pennisten who sold it on 28 Aug. 1917 to Hattie Greening of Cincinnati.
