Your name sounds familiar, so let me begin by saying that we may have corresponded in the past. I was doing a search on the Eagan family forum, and saw your post about Desouge. I was inspired to go to the France forum and I typed in several variations of that name (ones I could think of). I came up with "De Saint Onge". Your ancestors name might be a corruption of the regional place name where he came from originally. I sure hope this works out for you, as I have had my share of "brick walls".
