Ray, are the John and Mary Ford you have originally from Monroe County?I have a John and Mary Ford in both the 1850 Monroe Co. census and 1880 Fayette County census with the following children and ages:
1850 Monroe County Census,
John H. Ford, 32, farmer; Mary, 31, wife;
Thomas T., 3; Charles S., 1.
1880 Fayette County Census,
John H. Ford, 61, farmer; Mary, 56, wife; John A., 20; James C., 18; Robert E., 16; Elizabeth F., 14; William H., 8, grandson.
I concluded (may be wrong though) that they are the same family. They would have different children at home thirty years apart. I couldn't figure out the age difference in Mary, but I have that her name was Mary Cook, so maybe they are two different wives. There are several years difference between the birthdates of the John you gave me and the one I had. Robert is also two years off. If you can help me clear this up I would appreciate it.
