"Regarding the Eachus English royal connection: Robert Eachus's wife, Elizabeth Harry, was the daughter of Elizabeth Brinton and Hugh Harry. Thomas Allen Glenn...alleged that Hugh Harry was a lineal descendant of Edward III of England...
Interesting, I wasn't aware of that. But irrelevant, since I was referring to the Brinton side of the family. She was the lineal descendent of Sir Thomas Grey, 9th Lord Ferrers of Groby, whatever or wherever Groby is. His mother re-married Edward IV, and Sir Thomas was the father of Lady Jane Grey, the shortest reigning Queen of England. He and his descendents were enmeshed in the War of the Roses, and later in the restoration of Charles the II.
You must remember that royalty during the War of the Roses had trouble holding onto their heads where religion was concerned, and Cromwell came along a few years later to make it even harder. The religious convictions of anyone with a possible claim to the throne were a matter of great concern to the state. Even a Quaker as a peer of the realm would have been considered a major disaster by many.
