I correspnded with Brian Eachus in the UK who gave me the following info on the EACHUS name...
"The name Eachus comes from the Norman word ECELS which means land added to an estate."

I contacted him through his son Andrew who can I reached at this address (circa Nov '88)
aes@oldham-sfc.ac.uk. He may have more on the name origins.
