Okay, I just have to ask. Where did the name Mary Crinkleton come from? Almost every researcher including myself has Mary Crinkleton or Crunkleton as the wife of Rufus Eachus, but yet I've never seen it in any "official" source.

Now on people are saying her father was Joseph of Franklin County, PA. Is this because he had a daughter Mary who married a Samuel Ickes? While it sounds like a link I just don't think it is. First Rufus was Rufus H. Eachus so it's not even possible that his middle name was Samuel. And secondly, Joseph's daughter was born in 1827 and died in the first decade of the 20th century.

Is there another Joseph? And does anyone know where the name Crinkleton originally came from? By that I mean what source stated that Rufus married a Crinkleton? I don't know why I even think that at this point, other than I probably just copied what others were saying back 30 years ago.

BTW, my website with my Eachus line (and documentation) is located at

Thanks in advance,
