The following quote has me somewhat scratching my head: "Fixing the errors!!!!!
I finally got around to visiting the Pennsylvania Historical Society today. PHS has a copy of the HARRY Genealogy and it was this work that was in error. It states that Elizabeth Harry m. Robert Eachus... son of Enoch Eachus and Esther Pierce. The HARRY genealogy cites "The History of Chester County", Futhey/Cope, 1881 as the source. I have a copy of the Futhey/Cope reference cited and it does NOT show Enoch as the father of Robert. Futhey/Cope lists Enoch as Robert's son and also lists Robert's son William, who married Sarah (Walter) Pierce."
Another posting by Brian Eachus states that the name Enoch is Welsh and that negates the validity of this information.

The name "Enoch" is not Welsh but Hebrew and is from the Bible. Why shouldn't an Eachus be named from the Bible??? Just because Robert has a son named Enoch, this means that his father could not be named Enoch????? I would think it MORE likely that there was an Enoch somewhere upline in the Eachus tree. Also, if the grandfather married a Peirce, that means that there are Pierces nearby and that they may be cousins. Cousin marriages were common and often sought after. So why shouldn't the grandson marry a Pierce? Perhaps PHS got their sources mixed up at publication. Hard to say. I guess I'm just wondering why the information in the PHS are wrong. Maybe it's just their references that are erroneous. Any input???
