My wife's ancestor James Hamilton WATTS (b. ca 1810 NC, d. 1851 Pike, later Bullock, Co., AL) was married to Eliza (b. ca 1808 NC, d. 1874 Bullock Co., AL).

Family sources say Eliza was a DYSON, and that her mother was a BOSWELL. We know that James Hamilton and Eliza lived in Columbus Co., NC before coming to Pike Co., AL between 1847 and 1850. The area of Pike Co. where they settled came to be known as Boswell's Crossroads, and was included in the new county when Bullock Co. was created in 1866.

I think it is very probable that this Eliza (DYSON?) may be a member of your Columbus Co., NC DYSON family; what do you think?
