You say your Gt.Grandfather was John William DYSON, died 1933 at the age of 63, which means he was born c.1870 and would be age 11 at the time of the British 1881 census.
In this Census, there are TWO John W DYSON's listed as age 11.
[1] Son of James (49)& Alice (40)DYSON of Flathouse, Linthwaite, Huddersfield, to gether with other siblings - Melessea(21), Mary E.(19), Sarah(13), JOHN W.(11),Fred(7), Amy(5) and Isabella(1) all born Linthwaite, Huddersfield.
[2] Son of Elizabeth DYSON, Widow, age 33 of Hope Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield, together with - JOHN W.(11), Anney(9) and Mary E.(4) all born Huddersfield.
Does the above information allow you to select which of the two John W.'s above, is your Gt.Grandfather ?
