My Dyson's immigrated to the U.S. in 1827 after your Dison/Dyson J Raper would have been born. There were no female Dyson that migrated with him at that time. I have an ancestry.com membership and found a Dicen J Raper born 1820 in S.C. in the Pickens District with his father being listed at Thomas as well. The family tree I viewed also has no mother listed. Have you viewed this tree or researched under this spelling of his name?
