My William Dyson of Wilkes and Burke Nc with descendants in Caldwell and Alexander county is not linked to the Barton Dyson lineby any connection I can find.
He receives two Burke county land grants one in 1799 and one around 1822 and then acquires land in Wilkes He first appears in the 1800 census as William Dicen.
He was born in Va and I suspect the county was Mecklenburg
